Nasal/Nose Prosthetics
Loss of a nose can come from a variety of causes, but regardless, finding a clinician with a broad range of skills is a rare, hard-to-find service. An overview of this is below, but I can also begin to further educate a patient about the creation of a custom-made nasal prosthesis just for them!
A well done prosthesis can change a patients personality as increase confidences and creates anonimity. I can bring smiles for some!
It takes an artist as well as a prosthetist to restore lives…
Facial prosthetics restore not only a patients image, but can be very important to restore function as well. A nasal or ear prosthesis can enable a patient to wear glasses, ensure proper breathing and protect the remaining tissues. A good prosthesis seeks to go unnoticed wherever possible, and anonimity is often the desied use when out in public spaces.
Osseo-Integration (Bone Anchored Implants)
Osseointegration is the use of titanium implants that “bonds” with the bone to allow the use of magnets or a “bar” and clip system to hold a prosthesis in place, replacing various adhesives. It is a surgical procedure that requires several stages before a prosthesis can be fit with that form of retention.
